About IY (UK)
IY (UK) organises an Iyengar yoga convention each year in a different place throughout the United Kingdom, during which one or more senior guest teachers from the United Kingdom or abroad take classes over a weekend.
IY (UK) is responsible for maintaining standards of teaching of Iyengar yoga, and undertakes regular assessments and certification of those wishing to teach from Level 1 to Level 4. It also co-ordinates Professional Development Days throughout the United Kingdom, to enable teachers to remain up to date and to help maintain the validity of their teaching certificates. In addition the Association provides insurance cover for teacher members.

Chair since May 2019. Louise has been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 2000 and became a teacher in 2009.

Angela joined the Committee in 2022.
Practising since 1980, teaching from 2005 and Angela was founder of KIY in 2006.

Secretary
Glenda joined in 2020. She has practised yoga for many years and became a teacher in 2013.
